Significant 3 day weekend
Saturday was Jax's First Birthday Party! It had a jungle theme, and he had lots of guests wishing him a Happy Birthday! Sara baked him a banana cake.
He did a good job eating part of it. He used his index finger to scoop off some icing before really digging to eat it.
He knew just what to do with the presents.
He as gracious about posing with ALL the relatives and friends.
Here he is with my parents and his dad, Matt.
Sunday we went to the outlet mall at Osage Beach with my parents. Found a few good deals on some winter clothing and got a peak at the Spring clothing, which is already arriving. Lots of scarves. Orange and bright teal blue seem to be the predominant colors at this point.
while enjoying my day off, I'm remembering the contributions & sacrifice that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made to our country, as well as the significance of the Inauguration of a President. I try not to take the blessings of living in this country for granted.

How cute
Seren's first birthday is coming up in a couple months. We'll probably just have family over one or two at a time. I'm not a fan of big parties although my husband will probably want to do more. Who knows... I will post about it no doubt.
Gracious. I like that.

It was nice to have Jax's party as an excuse for family (especially my parents) and friends to get together, since we are all so scattered out. Of course a few friends & family at a time means more time for each person to have with Seren. As with life, there are advantages and disadvantages to each choice.
