We had a little family reunion at my parents house this afternoon. It was great to sit around and share stories of "the kids table" where we were forced to eat when children, and after a few years of "adult table" experience, were banished back to the children's table with our own kids. I don't remember my own parents being forced to eat at the children's table... It was fun to hear childhood stories from my mom & her sister, my Aunt Jo. Some of the stories I've heard before, but today a few more details came out. I have some follow up questions...
The broccoli is up.
Tomorrow Dennis will have to set up the grow lights. I need to do some research on zinnias. I want to grow a lot of them. Our jonquils are almost blooming. I'm not sure there is going to be a window of opportunity to plant the beets, lettuce & spinach tomorrow. We are supposed to get rain. On Thursday, it looks like our snow will be freezing rain or sleet.
We had pizza for lunch, then stopped at Panera on the way home. I had their "pick 2". Cup of tomato soup with 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich. YUMMY! I have mixed beans soaking for soup tomorrow. I may bake some bread. After being on the road so much the past few days, I want a day at home.
Matt & Sara are wonderful parents. A happy family. I so glad to be a part of it...the rewards for raising Matt I suppose. LOL At least he has a sense of humor and can NOW appreciate some of the trials & tribulations we went thru to get him to adulthood. Also a big thanks to all the other adults/parents of friends who helped us in this major undertaking.
Hope lots of fans go to cheer for both teams.
I drove Dennis' truck out to their place. She kind of remembered it. We (mostly Dennis) fed her a while back. She was curious until I opened the garage door and got the food out. Then she was quite friendly. Lucas was a bit put out when I came home smelling like horse.
It's a good place for Matt because he can be Gluten Free, and I think even Jax could eat a bite of veggies as long as no HOT sauce was used.
Actually, too much chocolate and cookies. But at least I know I/we are appreciated. Sometimes.
It was another day full of drama. It turns a normal day into an exhausting one.

Not as many people this year, probably because there were at least 5 other Trivia nights already this year. There were nice items at the Silent Auction, so that also brought in some money. Dennis was the MC. He did a good job.
Hopefully the members can catch their breaths and relax a bit before they gear up for the Pancake Breakfast on April 13. I like the pancake breakfast. I just have to show up and eat; then chat with friends and take a few photos.
